Split is very well connected from all major European cities  via Zagreb by plane, train, car or bus.

Ferry port is located in the city centre.

Split is connecting with an international line Ancona - Italy. With Jadrolinija is connecting to the port Rijeka and islands. On the route Italy - Croatia has multiple carriers SEM-MARINA, jadrolinija SNAW. It is generally well connect by sea. The difference is that you have to watch out that you will travel by boat made fast or ferry.

The airport is located 25 km from the city of Split. Any flight that comes in Split is connecting with buses to the city. At the Airport, you can also rent a car or rental taxi. The average price for an average car is 25 € in low season and € 75 of the season. I research the price for one day but the price can be reduced if rented for several days. It is possible also to Renata car at one location and returns it at another.

Taxi transport in Split is quite different. There are a number of different taxis. I recommend that you look for, and immediately ask for a price and invoice.

Travel to Split byBus

The bus station is located in the city centre near the port of Split. The city is very well connected with bus transfers in Zagreb, Split and other towns in Croatia and abroad. Railroad

Croatian rail from Split to Zagreb and to European cities is good connected. It is possible that you put your car to the train.

 There are direct trains from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland. Fast trains from Zagreb to cities such as Berlin, Budapest, Munich, Venice and Vienna.

 AUSTRIA - Between Vienna and Zagreb driving two daytime and two night-time train (the price is about 64 Euros, and takes from 6.5 to 13 hours), and three continue to Rijeka (the price is about 74 Euros, and the trip takes 11, 5 to 16.5 hours).

 HUNGARY - From Zagreb to Budapest driving four daily trains (about 33 Euros, the journey takes 5.5 to 7.5 hours).

 ITALY - Between Venice and Zagreb two direct drive train, and a few go through Ljubljana (the price is about 44 Euros, and takes 6.5 to 7.5 hours).

 SERBIA - Two daily trains connecting Zagreb and Belgrade for 18 Euros, and it takes 7 hours.

 SLOVENIA - By eleven trains daily runs between Zagreb and Ljubljana (about 13 Euros, and takes 2 hours and 15 minutes), and four trains connect Rijeka and Ljubljana (12 Euros, 3 hours drive).  For more information visit www.slo-zeleznice.si

Interrail - Interrail offers unlimited travel in first and second grade through thirty European countries for EU citizens over six months with two options. Demo for one country offers travel for three, four, six or eight days in one month in all the countries except Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro. Travel is not allowed in the country from which the traveller. Passengers under the age of twenty-six years are entitled to a discount, while children's tickets to fifty percent cheaper.
